Supporting Jack O'Connell's vision with RtI ², the Center for Improving Schools offers trainings and resources that define a general education approach of high quality instruction, early intervention, prevention and behavioral strategies.

Supporting School and District Improvement

Highly trained improvement coordinators and specialists provide training and support in the following areas to meet the needs of teachers and administrators in Orange County:

• developing communication and coaching skills for leading and facilitating groups;
  
• implementing school-wide Positive Behavioral Interventions & Supports (PBIS);
• building and sustaining Professional Learning Communities (PLC);
• exploring and implementing Response to Intervention (RtI²);
  
• strengthening mathematics and reading interventions;
• assisting schools and districts in development, review and revision of LEA and single school plans (RSDSS);
  
• training schools and districts on the use of California Department of Education tools including the Academic Program Survey (APS) and the District Assistance Survey (DAS); and
  
• providing technical assistance to Program Improvement schools and districts (RSDSS).
